ABOUT ME

Wesley Knust has a Bachelor of Arts degree with a focus in Music Theory from Saginaw Valley State University and a Master of Music degree in Music Education from the University of Florida. While at SVSU, Wesley studied trumpet with Dr. Mark Flegg, and piano with Nicholas Schmelter and Dr. Edward Soehnlen. His graduate research at the University of Florida focused on incorporating improvisation and composition activities into piano lessons for adolescent beginner students.

Based in Eastpointe, Wesley is currently teaching piano lessons in his home, as well as online. In 2020, he was recognized by Lessons.com as one of the Top 10 Music Instructors in the Midland region. He currently serves as the Music Director at First United Methodist Church of Mount Clemens.

As a collaborative musician, Wesley has accompanied church and school choirs, student performers at Solo & Ensemble events, students auditioning for collegiate music programs, and student recitals. He has also played in pit orchestras, brass quintets, and in the trumpet section of the Saginaw Eddy Concert Band, and directed the Blue Water New Horizons Concert Band for their 2021-2022 season.

Wesley has performed as a solo pianist at venues such as Roma's Back Door in Owosso,  Romeo Village Winery, the Bavarian Inn Lodge in Frankenmuth, Artisan Urban Bistro in Old Town Saginaw, and the Bancroft Wine & Martini Bar in downtown Saginaw. He is currently booking performances and would love to perform for your event!
